FAQs
Yes, we require all tiny homes to be insured. Since all homes that Tiny House Listings builds are certified, finding insurance won’t be a problem. Foremost offers tiny house insurance along with MAC Insurance and Strategic Insurance.
Our community will have a community center for residents to enjoy, a large pavilion for grill outs, concerts and a community place to gather outside. We have walking trails and also a fishing pond. Beyond our community the local area has so much to offer including biking, hiking, swimming, kaying, waterfalls and many small mountain towns scattered throughout. There are also several ski resorts close enough for day trips or weekend getaways.
Our community has a total of 50 lots spread out over 15 acres. While we haven’t finalized plans, are considering a short-term sub-community that would be located in another section of the village. This would enable residents to have a place for guests to stay and also allow others who would like to experience tiny house living.
Unfortunately no. The only people allowed to live in the tiny house are those listed on the lease. This is to protect the safety of our residents and also strengthen the sense of community.
Our community is absolutely pet friendly! We love our four-legged friends! We ask that dogs be leashed while outside the home and must be picked up after.
Yes! We are glad you asked. We are in the very initial stages of opening our lovely tiny house community. We expect spots to fill up quickly so please email us for more information.
Although rare, it’s possible we may have tiny homes available for long-term leases (12 months or longer) so please be sure to email us to check current availability.
Typically the process works where we build your tiny house for you in our facility located in Wilmington, North Carolina or you purchase a tiny house in our current inventory. From there we deliver the tiny house for Mountain Haven for you where we will then setup the home for you including attaching all utilities.
The first step is to email us to give us some more information about yourself and when you plan to move to our community. From where we would either point you to tiny homes that we currently have in our inventory or we make arrangements to begin building your tiny homes. Depending on our currently availability, completion times may vary.
Tiny house parking has probably been the single-biggest obstacle to living tiny since the movement began many years ago. Fortunately this is slowly no longer becoming the case. In 2024 Tiny House Listings will be opening many tiny house communities throughout the southeast with hopes to expand further in 2025.
If you want to park your tiny house legally you have many options. A tiny house community, RV park, someone’s land, on your own land. If you plan to park your tiny home in a community, the hard work of being legal has already been done for you. If you plan to purchase your own land, you’ll need to work with your local planning and zoning department. Our homes are certified as park model home (ANSI 119.5) which is something zoning will want to know.
Visits to our warehouse are reserved to serious buyers actively looking to purchase a tiny home. If that’s you, we’d love to have you! From time-to-time we offer open houses for the general public, but typically visits are limited to active buyers. We also try our best to keep an inventory of tiny homes for our customers needing to purchase a tiny house quickly. Yes, we offer multiple financing options, some that span up to 25 years. Many of our customers elect to pay all cash for their homes while some elect to go with financing. We recognize that everyone’s financial situation is different, which is why we have partnered with multiple financing companies, one of which will hopefully work for your unique needs. Please contact us to get more details regarding financing your tiny home.
We recommend having an insured moving company deliver your tiny house. We work with several tiny house moving companies across the nation.
We have partnered with tiny homes delivery companies across The United States that are the best in the industry. Typically the cost of moving a tiny house ranges from $2.50-$4 mile but can vary based on your location.
You can pickup your tiny house upon completion from our facility in Wilmington, North Carolina but we require a signed waiver saying you are responsible for moving the tiny home and any damages associated from doing so.
We offer a 1-year manufactures warranty for our homes. This means should anything go wrong in the first year of ownership resulting from our craftsmanship, we either repair or replace the issue. The appliances that come with your home are under warranty by the respective manufacturers as well.
Please remember that it is your responsibility to maintain your home, exactly as you would a traditional home. This means keeping your home painted when needed, for example. Also homes that will stay in the same place for an extended amount of time should be leveled and braces on the corners of the home.
When you purchase a tiny house from us the turn-around time can be as soon as only a few weeks (depending on the model you purchase) and up to 8 weeks depending on current workload. In some situations, we have inventory that is available to purchase immediately. Please contact us to get a current build time.
Yes! All homes we build are ANSI 119.5 certified which means they are built to an extremely high standard with 3rd party oversight. We decided from the beginning that we only wanted to build certified tiny homes. The three reasons we only build certified homes are:
- It helps with resell value: Tiny homes that are 3rd party certified offer more confidence to potential buyers when/if the time comes to sell your tiny home
- It helps with financing: Most banks want to see your home come with a 3rd party certification, especially when attempting to secure long-term loans and not just personal loans
- It helps with parking: Most tiny homes communities and rv parks want a tiny home to be certified before they consider you as a potential resident. The same is typically true when purchasing a piece of land to put your tiny home on.
